Panning Shots:

A panning shot usually highlights the setting of a scene and the speed of characters and objects within that scene. The camera in most circumstances simply pans from left to right giving the audience a clear view of the scenery.

Sherlock Holmes Review:

Sherlock Holmes was produced in 2009 and directed by Guy Ritchie who has also directed the following famous films: 'Snatch', 'Die another day', 'Lock Stock and two smoking barrels' and 'RocknRolla', which have all been massive successes. Sherlock Holmes at the time it was introduced to the public via cinema screens was up against films such as 'It's complicated', 'Nine' and 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus'. Sherlock Holmes, in America made $62,304,277 on it's opening weekend and a total of $209,019,489 and to add to this was nominated for 2 oscars.
The film follows Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson as they try to catch serial killer Lord Blackwood and after he is believed to have been murdered and comes back from the grave, the mystery continues. Holmes, in order to catch Lord Blackwood, he has to get passed both Dr Watson's fiancee and the head of Scotland yard.

I really did enjoy Sherlock Holmes, my favourite thing about the film was the special effects within many of the fighting scenes, one of the best scenes in which used special effects was the scene when a bomb goes off within a building in London. I also thought the costumes within the film were very suitable for the era in which the film is set, aswell as this the setting of the film in London is also very appropriate for the plot, and places such as London Bridge are set perfectly for the period in which the film is based.
Aswell as this, personally i think Robert Downey Jr, Jude Law and Rachel Adams were perfectly fitted for the characters in which they play, especially Robert Downey Jr who plays the main character Sherlock Holmes.

I think other people my age would also really enjoy the film, as it is a very fast paced film including lots of action sequences. However, i think younger children may not enjoy the film as it is quite complex and complicated as lots of things do happen within the plot, and it is hard to understand if you are younger. An older audience will also enjoy the film as they would be able to keep up with its fast pace and the twists and turns in the plot.

The film ends with Sherlock Holmes continuing to solve more mysteries, this meaning that there will hopefully be a sequel to the film. I would definately watch another Sherlock Holmes as i really enjoyed the first film and would love to see what Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson get up to in the next film.
I loved a lot of scenes within the film, one of my favourites was Sherlock Holmes fighting scene within the boxing ring. I did not hate any parts of the scene, i thought it was a very well put ntogether film, which i really enjoyed.
