Birds Eye View Shot:

A birds eye view shot is when the camera is placed very high up- sometimes in planes or helicopters to gain extra height. The shot shows the scenery of the shot very well as a lot can be seen from high up. Birds eye view shots can also be used to patronise chracters and feel dominant, as the camera is looking down upon them. Birds eye view shots are also commonly called: aerial shots and crane shots.
